Apple Granola Bars

Ingredients

250g Jumbo oats

4 small Apples (skinned and cored)

200ml Maple Syrup

1 Teaspoon Cinnamon

70g Chopped Hazelnuts

100g Chopped Almonds

100g Chopped Pistachio kernels

Method

  1. Pre heat the oven to 150 degrees
  2. Put all dry ingredients into a large bowl
  3. Peel the Apples and Core and cut into pieces
  4. Pour water into a medium pan and bring to boil
  5. Add the Apple pieces and allow to soften on medium heat for 10 minutes
  6. Add the softened Apple and the rest of the wet ingredients into a blender including the mashed banana and blend until smooth, add maple syrup & honey to preferred sweetness and continue to blend if needed
  7. Add wet ingredients to dry mixture and mix well
  8. Line baking tray with baking paper and pour mixture into the tray
  9. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes
  10. Allow to cool and then cut into squares
